JUUL Products Are Dangerous
As you may have seen, JUUL pods and other various forms of vaping are increasing in popularity. Everywhere you go, there are plumes of flavored smoke in the air. But are they as safe as they say? Keep reading to find out more about JUUL and vaping injury.
What Is In A JUUL?
JUUL products contain the following:
- glycerol
- artificial flavoring
- propylene glycol
- benzoic acid
- 40 MG of nicotine

JUUL has twice the amount of nicotine found in similar products. This makes it twice as addicting and twice as toxic. Nicotine addiction is dangerous and can have devastating effects. Science has shown nicotine can cause:
- heart disease
- respiratory illnesses
- trauma to offspring
- death
JUUL Vape Marketing
JUUL and other companies spend a fortune on marketing the safety of their products. However, there is no independent lab testing to confirm any of these claims.

The Scary Truth About Vaping
Several people, including teens, have died from vaping-related illnesses and complete lung failure. According to the Washington Post, the first death related to vaping occurred in Chicago.
In August 2019, the Centers for Disease Control reported 193 cases spanning 22 states. The numbers continue to climb with new, even scarier results. As of November 2019, there are 2,290 cases in 49 states (all except Alaska).
Severe Lung Damage
Doctor Hassan Nemeh shared, “This is an evil that I haven’t ever faced before.” Doctor Nemeh performed a double-lung transplant on a teen with vape illness. He, along with other medical professionals, is urging users to stop vaping immediately. The consequences are dire.

Marketing To Young Audiences
JUUL has focused its targets on the young market and is wildly popular with teens. An alarming 47% of teens try vaping because their friends do. JUUL even offers a vape that mirrors a USB stick to hide from teachers and parents. It plugs into the USB drive in a computer to charge whilst going virtually unnoticed.
By design, the fruity flavorings appeal to an even younger market. The fun flavors mimic sweet treats, making it difficult for young audiences to resist. And thus, a whole new generation of addiction is born.
Product Liability
When products are sold to the public, there is an assumption the product is safe. Manufacturers and sellers must uphold the standard of safety testing and proper assembly. JUUL has not abided by these rules.
In New Jersey, the New Jersey Product Liability Act (NJPLA) covers all “harm caused by a product.” They recognize the following defects:
- design defect
- manufacturing defect
- inadequate instructions or warning
JUUL and other vape manufacturers are failing to warn the public of their inherent risks. Furthermore, this is prompting lawsuits across the country.
